Florida Nail Tech Training: How to Find a School

Last reviewed 26 September 2026

Florida's DBPR licenses this specialty statewide under its own hour rule. Here's that rule, our city guide, and where online training fits beside it.

How to Become a Nail Technician in Florida

Florida registers this specialty through the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR). The requirement is 180 hours of training covering manicuring and pedicuring; Florida does not require a separate state licensing exam for this specialty. Where Online Training Fits

Our course does not count toward Florida's 180-hour requirement; only training on the route DBPR sets, described above, does. From home, you can start on gel, acrylic and Russian-manicure technique now, with Darya Shevchenko's feedback on photos of your practice work. It ends in a Sublime Professional diploma, not a Florida licence.

No. Sublime is not approved by Florida or any other state, so none of our hours count toward the 180 hours Florida requires. You still need Florida's own route, set out above.
